Leftovers Log Cabin notes..
This is a combination of Liberated Quilts and Cotton Theory Quilting (CTQ)
(1) Nothing is measured but the batting. Random width strips, random cut center rectangles. (That’s the Liberated Quilts part).
(2) Used quilt-as-you-go construction on the blocks.
(3) CTQ seams to make horizontal rows.
(4) Discovered you CAN’T do CTQ seams both directions unless you add sashing. Since that would mess up the straight furrows setting I carefully added a 1/2″ spacer, alternating light/dark with each block transition. You don’t really notice just a half-inch un-squaring of the blocks. You can see the spacer easily on the ‘back’ shot.
(5) The border seams are regular 1-way-street CTQ seams.
