The Barefoot Quiltessas get together the first Friday of every month to sew quilts that are donated to local agencies in the Roanoke Valley. These agencies in turn give them to those in need, providing comfort and warmth.
On average, about 200 quilts a year are distributed among these nonprofit organizations: Ronald McDonald House, Blue Ridge Cancer Center, Turning Points Shelter, the VA, the Blue Ridge Women’s Center, Bethany Hall, and Family Promise. The Quiltessas enjoy fun and fellowship while perfecting our skills as quilters, exploring new ideas and patterns, and providing a much needed service to our local community.
They meet on the 1st Friday of each month from 10-3 PM at:
Our Lady of Nazareth Church
2505 Electric Road
SW Roanoke
Bring your sewing machine and lunch to join in the fun and hands-on learning.
